[October 24, 2006 @ 11:02am]
Things have been very busy lately.

Here's a quick list of new stuff I bought / got / did in the past week or so.

+ Got a 42" Sony HDTV!
+ Got a new Washer & Dryer!
+ Bought a new ROCKETT Hoodie view here )
+ Bought a new THREADLESS Shirt view here )
+ Hanging out with my amazing girlfriend.
+ The Thrashers are 7-1-1 (Amazing)
+ I can't stop playing hockey again, thanks to the weather.
+ Playing XBOX 360, mostly NHL 2007.
+ Playing Guitar Hero 2 demo!

...and to top it all off, I'm going to be a Zombie this Saturday for Halloween.

I can't wait!

[October 16, 2006 @ 8:11am]
It's official, Hockey Season is in FULL effect. The Atlanta Thrashers are already #1 in our division and holding no signs of slowing down. I can't tell you how excited this makes me. I got out of work a bit earlier than normal last Wednesday so I got Jeremy, Kyle, and Jimmy to pick my ass up and we headed to the game. The Philips Arena is offering 2 for 1 ticket deals on Wednesday, so we watched the game, and definitely won 4-1. With that being said... Hockey season is back, oh yes.

Another reason I mentioned the above... We acquired a RCA 25" average TV with no speakers when we first moved into the apartment. It was decent and FREE, yet had scratches all over the screen, weighed about 100 lbs, and was placed into an entertainment center that could eat it. Well... About 2 weeks ago my roommate traded in a ton of our old XBOX games and the XBOX system for an XBOX 360, so we knew it was time for a new TV.

Jeremy and I headed out to Brand Smart USA (insert catchy theme music here). This place was gigantic! All the signs were neon colors, which for some reason, made me think of the Flea Market. It had that cheap feeling. We browsed around the store for a good 2 hours before asking any questions, then we narrowed down our pick between 2 TVs. After much though and selection, we decided to pick up the 42" SONY HDTV 3LCD TV. We measured our entertainment center before we left the house, the width of the center was 39.4 inches and 33 height. We measured the SONY TV, it was 39.33 inches wide. We were nervous when we brought it home and hooked it up, but it fits absolutely perfect. We went out and bought some Composite cables and I've never seen TV this good. It's amazing.

Check It Out! )

Ok everyone... it's official. [September 20, 2006 @ 3:56pm]
I finally have a band again. We decided to name the band We Are The Avenue after 3 weeks worth of thought. It doesn't really have much meaning, it just sounds better than "blood, blood, blood, blood... razorblades!"

Anyway, we have a website and a myspace page so you can all check out the stuff. We recently recorded 2 songs on Garageband, they're on our myspace and blah blah blah!

With all that being said I'm ready to get off work.

Errr..... [September 05, 2006 @ 9:07am]

Ok.. so this weekend I splurged a little. I'm not even sure if splurge is the appropriate word for this since I placed this item on my Guitar Center Credit Card. Ah, 12 months same as cash with my birthday 5 days away. Let's just call it an early birthday gift to myself.

So I basically have a band as I stated in my last entry. All I needed was a guitar amp. With hopes of only window shopping, we all proceeded to the new Guitar Center in Fayetteville. I tried out almost every amp they had, the $1299.99 JCM2000 Marshall, which sounded like a tin can even with a 1960's Gibson Gold Top. I basically played every Marshall combination they had, and I gotta tell you, I wasn't impressed. Right about then a Guitar Center associate approached me and asked the rather repetitive question, "Do you need any help finding anything?" I responded with, "Sure, I'm trying to find an amp close to a Mesa Dual Rec sound, yet you dont have the Mesa amps in yet. Do you have anything similiar to that?" The associate said, "Have you ever played a B-52? Come over here and try this amp out."

Jimmy went and grabbed me a guitar and the associate grabbed me a chord. I plugged into this Mesa-like amp head and started playing. I have to be honest, I was blown away. This amp is a 100 Watt all tube triple rectifier. It basically melted my face and destroyed any sound those Marshalls could have ever produced. I instantly knew this was a keeper, so I wheeled and dealed and walked away with the head and cab for $1000.00 even.

So I will spread the word out, if you're a guitar player wanting a Mesa sound, buy one of these amps. Same sound, half the price. No joke.

Life. [August 29, 2006 @ 9:05am]
So it's been a while, I posted 2 entries, maybe 3. I've received 1 comment, good motivation to keep posting? Not so much. Another good motivator for posting... boredom. Ah yes, the wonderfully inspired feeling of boredom.

My life, as of lately, has been good. I have been working my ass off at my job pulling in almost 60 hours weekly with no overtime. Salary is a great thing, Woo Hoo. I have also been spending 90% of my free time with Alison, my amazing girl friend. She's pretty much the only reason I haven't gone crazy yet.

I'm doing everything I can to save money, earn money, win money, so I can purchase a guitar amp. I basically have a band waiting on me to get an amp so we can start writing and playing music. I already have some songs / ideas in the works that I'm pretty excited about. I used to play bass for over 10 years in bands, but I started out playing guitar back in 7th grade and I'm ready to play guitar again. The sad part is, I have over $5,000 worth of bass equipment I could trade in for a damn good guitar amp, but there's no way in hell that's happening. Haha.

My birthday is also in 2 1/2 weeks, I will be good ol' 25. At least I can look forward to my insurance lowering. Yay.

Dates of Importance:
+ September 05 - Supernatural (First Season) DVD
+ September 10 - My Birthday!
+ October 05 - Hockey Season Starts!

I worked from 7:30am to 10:00pm yesterday.
9 1/2 hours later, I'm back at work.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't exhausted.

Mondays... [July 31, 2006 @ 9:01am]
I'm beginning to lose hope in the 9 to 5.
It's not supposed to be 9 to 9.
My body isn't made for this.

Thank god I have an amazing girl to keep me in check.

It seems like forever... [July 05, 2006 @ 10:36am]

It's been roughly 4 months since I've posted anything here. I wanted to let everyone know that I'm doing well and that you should read my journal at theratio.net. Bookmark it, read it, comment it, or not. It's all up to you.

Since it has been FOREVER and I'm bored / sick at work, you should comment with questions / updates on your lives. It will give us both something to do.

I hope everyone had an excellent Holiday, I know I did.

Nerd Update #1,007. [March 15, 2006 @ 8:32am]
Yesterday I received my mini-DVI to DVI adapter from Apple (Thank you Apple for the quick shipping). With this adapter I was able to set up dual monitor support. I can drag windows to and from each monitor. See below for the end result.

+2 More )

I was also able to setup a remote desktop connection between my Mac and my PC. To those who do not know what that means. That's when I can basically see my Windows PC in a window on my Mac. I have the start menu and the ability to run programs, basically I have full control of my PC on my Mac. Learn more about Remote Desktop Clients here.

Ok enough of being a dork.
HAVE A GOOD DAY!

[March 13, 2006 @ 7:11am]
Before I head to work I must inform you all of one of the greatest zombie movies I have ever seen. It's equiped with super cheesy death scenes, tons and tons of fake blood, and aliens. You heard me, I said aliens. It will make you think of Dead Alive (aka Brain Dead). GO RENT THIS, I promise you'll get a kick out of it, especially when the hilly billy punches the zombie fish. I couldn't breath after that, F*ing amazing.

RENT IT!

[March 09, 2006 @ 1:28pm]
I am exhausted. I have a very bad habit of staying up past my bed time and last night was no exception.

The Thrasher's game last night was amazing, probably the best game all season. We won 3-2 in a shoot out. Woo!

This Coca Cola isn't helping much. Zzz.

I plan on reorganizing my entire computer desk tonight, as seen in 2 entries ago.

The Plan:
+ Remove my PC Tower and place it on the floor on the outside of the desk.
+ Remove my Creative Labs 5.1 sound system, box it up, and place it in my closet.
+ remove every wire.
+ re-hook everything back up with twisty ties.

The finished result should be like this, from left to right; Speaker, 20" iMac, 17" LCD Dell Monitor (hooked up to the iMac for dual monitor support), Speaker. I just want to make sure wires are not EVERYWHERE. That's my biggest concern.

If you haven't noticed yet, I'm a geek and you love it.

[March 07, 2006 @ 2:45pm]
Who ever said Step Brothers don't come in handy?!

My Step Brother just got me 2, $125.00 tickets to the Atlanta Thrashers game tomorrow night vs The New York Rangers. Jeremy and I will be 1 row away from the glass. So turn on Pax (aka the shittiest station to watch hockey on) and try to find us. GO THRASHERS!

Last night I ventured out to CompUSA and picked up some Harman Sound Sticks II for my iMac. I was very impressed with them, they sound excellent, and the volume touch controls are unique.

OK, back to work.

I finally did it... [March 06, 2006 @ 7:08am]
I finally broke down and bought me a new toy. The best part about it is, I actually bought it with cash! No credit, no debt. YES.

2 more )

20" iMac
2.0 GHZ Intel Core Duo Processor
250 GB HD
512 MB Ram (I'm buying another GB in a week or two)

:)!!!

New Stuff & No Work = Amazing. [February 21, 2006 @ 10:10am]
I slept over 11 hours last night. It was magnificent. I even had some really fucked up dreams to make the night more interesting. I hope the rains slows down a bit today so I can play some hockey tonight. That would be wonderful.

I'm really excited about the road trip this weekend. I might order my iMac right before I leave so it will be here the day after I come back. I'm ordering a 20" 2.1Ghz G5 iMac, 250GB HD, but only 512mb of ram, so I'm going to buy an extra 1GB chip to make it 1.5GB. Overall I'm pretty excited about that too.

Well.. I guess I'm going to head back to work and enjoy the day.

Take care.

"...In the middle of a putting green..." [February 14, 2006 @ 2:47pm]
I just put in for my vacation next week and it was approved!

Next Friday (02/24) Jeremy, Kyle, and myself are driving up to Washington DC to see the DAN BAND! That's right, Kyle's brother got free tickets from the band. We will be staying up there until Sunday to see the band, sight see, party, and etc... It's going to be amazing. I am officially excited.
